Individual Psychotherapy in Warsaw

Individual psychotherapy is something different from talking to a friend, coaching, or advice. It is regular, in-depth work with an experienced psychotherapist, aimed at lasting change – in how you think, feel, relate to others and to yourself.

At Znaczenia Psychotherapy Practice, we work within a psychodynamic framework. This means we do not focus solely on symptoms, but on what lies behind them – on patterns shaped by experience, on unconscious mechanisms that drive our choices, on how the past leaves its mark on the present.

What do our patients work on?

Individual psychotherapy does not require a “serious reason”. Many people begin therapeutic work not because of a crisis, but out of a wish to understand themselves more deeply.

How does psychotherapy work?

Sessions last 50 minutes and take place regularly – usually once a week, at a fixed time. Regularity matters: it creates a safe structure within which deeper work becomes possible.

At the beginning – usually over the first few sessions – we focus on understanding your situation and establishing shared goals for the therapy. As the work deepens, we begin to look at patterns, memories, relationships, and what happens between you and the therapist – because this relationship is itself an important therapeutic tool.

How long does psychotherapy last?

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is usually a long-term process. Shorter therapies last from a few months to around a year. Deeper work, addressing personality structure and earlier experiences, may last several years. The duration is determined individually – there is no single right timeline.
