The consultation lasts 50 minutes; in some situations, we may suggest an additional consultation meeting.
Individual psychotherapy takes place once or twice a week and lasts 50 minutes. It can be short-term or open-ended.
Short-term psychotherapy is a good option for people experiencing a sudden deterioration in functioning or who come because of difficult life circumstances. It usually consists of several to several dozen sessions, and the date of completion is agreed upon during the first meetings with the psychotherapist.
Open-ended psychotherapy focuses on a deep and multi-faceted understanding of oneself, recognising recurring patterns of behaviour and ways of building relationships with others. It introduces changes to the overall functioning of the personality.
Individual psychotherapy in English, Spanish, French and Ukrainian is also available.
Group psychotherapy enables working on various difficulties that accompany us in everyday life through getting to know ourselves in interaction with others. The essence of this type of therapy is building relationships with other participants and recognising and understanding the patterns that we repeat in these relationships in the safe atmosphere of the group.
By deepening our self-knowledge and learning through experience we gain the ability to make choices about how we behave in contact with other people — both within the therapeutic group and outside, in everyday life. The approach we use assumes that mental health is based on awareness of our interpersonal relationships.

Adolescent psychotherapy begins with a consultation — a joint meeting of parents, the adolescent, and the therapist. The conversation concerns the adolescent’s family, school, and social situation, as well as the parents’ relationship, which is an important factor influencing the young person’s well-being and behaviour. Then, a meeting with the adolescent takes place, followed by a final meeting with the parents, during which recommendations and forms of support are discussed.
The result of the consultation process is a decision about whether the adolescent or the family needs help, and if so, what kind. The recommendation may include individual psychotherapy, family therapy, psychiatric consultation, or parental meetings.
The decision to start individual psychotherapy is made jointly by both parents, the adolescent, and the therapist.
In some situations, the consultation may result in a recommendation for individual psychotherapy for the parents or couples therapy.
Before an adolescent’s consultation or psychotherapy, we ask for written consent from both parents. In the absence of one parent’s consent, the consultation/therapy cannot begin. We do not conduct assessments or prepare opinions for the Court in matters of child custody.
Individual psychotherapy for adolescents aged 13 and above is also available in English, Spanish and Ukrainian.
Parental meetings are intended for those who want to take a closer look at their relationship with their child/adolescent and to better understand themselves in the role of a parent. They provide an opportunity to reflect not only on the child’s/adolescent’s difficulties but also on their needs and developmental stage. The meetings may concern specific situations and take the form of joint reflection on the best ways for a given parent to act towards the child/adolescent. Meetings take place with both or only one of the parents. The number of meetings is determined during the consultation (from one to several).
